 The School of Arts and Sciences offers programs leading to the bachelor
of arts degree, the bachelor of science degree, the bachelor of fine
arts degree and the Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. These programs are
designed to provide a broad liberal education; the subject matter
background for specific careers, including teaching; and the preparation
for graduate work in a number of academic fields and professions,
including law and medicine.
The programs in the School of Arts and Sciences include the fine arts,
the humanities, mathematics, computer science, the natural sciences and
the behavioral and social sciences. Some programs are designated
“certifiable for teaching.” These programs all have additional
requirements which are found in the catalog descriptions listed under
the School of Education and Professional Studies.
When planning for majors and minors, students must consult with
department chairs or program directors and be assigned a faculty
advisor. |
