Annual Report: We will need to submit the annual report to President Aebersold

April 29th. Within the report you may want to share department accomplishments,
sponsored conferences, special program, major curriculum changes, published
items, grants received, etc.
Load Reports: The dean’s and ITS Department
have worked together to provide load report data for faculty. We are hopeful
that this will be effective for fall 2005. The draft of the load report will
be delivered to each academic department in a day or two. Please review the
report for any corrections and return it to Rick.
Budget: 1.
Send Paul an email regarding any ITS projects such as items for labs, computers
for students, connections, etc. 2.
All bond money requests have been approved.
3. We have received additional money for travel for this
current fiscal year. Reminder: when signing off on a travel form for a faculty
member, be sure the addendum is attached even if there is no cost to the
state. The form is located on the Arts & Sciences home page under “forms”.
4. Please inform faculty members to first seek your endorsement on purchases
for the department. If you approve the request, please forward your
endorsement to Paul.
Announcements:
Remind faculty to email Jack O’Leary at the CCSU Bookstore
if they will or will not be using books for the upcoming semester.
Lani Guinier will speak at CCSU on Thursday, April 28th.
Susan has extended an invitation to the Council of Chairs for the dinner after
Dr. Guinier’s lecture. Let Susan know if you will attend the dinner.
Meg Leake asked for event ideas for incoming students during
the first two weeks of the Fall 2005 semester. Please share any suggestions
with Meg regarding activities during this time period to help draw in A & S
majors and to welcome students. A discussion ensued regarding location and
time frame of the events.
