The twenty-one departments
in the School of Arts and Sciences offer many undergraduate major and concentration
programs. Individuals may also design, with faculty approval, an interdisciplinary special studies
major. Programs in African-American
Studies, American
Studies, Journalism, Religious Studies, Urban Studies, and Women's Studies.
Pre-law and
pre-medical programs and Area Studies in particular world regions are also offered.
Several special programs, such as medical technology
and engineering, are offered in conjunction with traditional majors or with other
Connecticut public universities
