- Motion to approve the minutes of December 1, 2000 (Harmon/Todd). Approved.
- Bob Yankello and Lynn Bonesio-Peterson talked about Banner. All of
the functions are up and running. Student registration is the last
function. There will be a mock registration with administrators,
faculty and students all participating. The registration function
will go live on April 16 for fall course registration.
A number of faculty members were interested in the OPENCLOSE
facility that is now available on the VAX. Banner does not have
openclose, but it does have a similar function. Individuals will
have access to the same information in Banner that they have now in
CSUSIS. Class lists and web access will not be available until after
May.
- Bill Sherman talked about the draft of the report from Athene
Consultants. Some technical corrections need to be made. Nothing
will be released from the report until it is presented to the
Executive Committee.
The new building has 320 computers, excluding the offices. Most of
the classroom computers are operational. The display units for the
instructors will mot be installed until May.
- Scott Evon explained that a new test grading program has been
installed and is now working. He distributed copies of the answer
sheets and summary printouts from the program.
- Amy Magno is completing a database of the computers on campus. The
database should make it easier to process computer replacements and
upgrades. The question of Windows 2000 was raised. It will probably
be installed on campus servers this year. Desktop installations will
not occur until next year.
- Roy Temple noted that 13 new multimedia stations were installed
last year. There will be another 10-12 this year.
- Dan Larose distributed information about the proposed MA in data
mining which will be on line. This was partly funded by a grant from
the CDLC. He asked the committee to support this degree program as
it passes through the campus committees.
- The meeting was adjourned at 3:22 p.m.
