Instructional Load - total load credits earned from classroom and laboratory instruction, including team-teaching assignments (890)

Special Project Load - load credits earned for special project assignments, such as Independent Study (IS), Internships (INT), and Thesis (T). (Special Project forms are completed for load credits earned in this category.)

Per Capita Instructional Load - load credits earned by teaching more than one student on a per capita basis

Instructional Reassigned Time - load credits earned for academic support services including advising (961), placement, supplementary lab credit (976), duties related to theater productions or music performance activities (888)

Administrative Reassigned Time - load credits earned for administrative or quasi-administrative duties: department chairs and assistant chairs (850, 851); assistants to the president, vice president or dean (901, 903); program coordinators (911); directors of centers or institutes (917); coordinators who oversee an academic facility (975), such as a language lab (963), computer lab (875), writing or mathematics centers (963, 960) or the Art Gallery (927); chairing a University committee or assessment team for which load credit is earned (905, 907, 908, 902); AAUP officer (801); grant administration (915)

Supervision - load credits earned for supervising student teaching (958)

Research Reassigned Time - load credits earned for doing research whether from an internal or external source (965), including faculty development grants (964)

Leave - load credits related to any kind of leave - sabbatical (967), exchange, partial sick or personal leave

Payback - overload from a previous semester being paid back in the current semester (recorded as a minus number)

Total Load for the Semester - total load credits for the current semester

Accumulated Overload - total accumulated overload excluding the current semester payback
