Detailed Instructions for downloading and opening
 the New Faculty Load Report file.

You may want to print this page so that you can refer to it while completing the steps below. Click on the printer icon near the top of your screen. 

  1. Choose your type of computer and browser in the table below. If you are using a PC, look at the top of your screen to see if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.

  1. If you are using a PC use the RIGHT mouse button and click in the appropriate box in the column labeled Do This. Use the LEFT button for all subsequent operations. If you are using a Mac, click on the "Older Mac" option if your computer has Word 96 installed. If you have a G3 or  if you have Word 98 on your computer, choose "New Mac."
  2. On a Mac a menu will appear on the screen. Click the save button. Save the file to your desktop. On a PC use the LEFT mouse button and choose 'Save Target as' in Internet Explorer, or 'Save Link as' in Netscape Navigator. A window will appear on your screen. In that window, to the right of  'Save in:', you will see a white box with some printing in it. If the word 'Desktop' is shown in the box go on to the next step. Otherwise, click the down arrow to the right of the white box and choose 'Desktop.' You may need to scroll up to see the word 'Desktop' because it is at the top of the menu. 
  3. Now click 'Save.'
  4. On both  PC and Mac, either minimize or close your browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer). 
  5. Find the file icon on your desktop. The name of the file is NewFacultyLoadReport.xls. Since it is a Microsoft Excel file its icon is a large X that looks something like this
  6. Double click on the icon. The file should open inside Microsoft Excel. 
  7. You can complete this form on your computer and print it out by clicking on the printer icon at the top of your screen. If you want to pencil in the information on a printed page before completing the form on the computer, click on the printer icon at the top of the screen to print the form.
